Sports Legends come to Reno for Legends of the Game Celebrity Tour

Now is your chance to bluff some of the greatest sports legends during Legends of the Game Celebrity Tour in Reno, Nev., Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June. 1. The tour includes poker, golf, and parties. This is the chance for players to bet against some of the biggest names in sports.

Dozens of sports celebrities, including Gale Sayers, Ken Norton, Rollie Fingers, George Gervin, Tito Fuentes, Vida Blue, and much more, will put their golf and poker skills to the test at the Peppermill Resort Casino in Reno on Saturday, May 30th thru June 1st 2008, during the Legends of the Game Celebrity Weekend. The public is invited to play. The buy-in for Poker is $200. More than $10,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded. Besides a chance to win the pot, if a poker player knocks out a sports legend they will go home with the autographed shirt right off the legend’s back to prove their feat. A celebrity will be placed at each poker table at the beginning of the tournament.

Information about Evelyn Mount

Evelyn Mount is a Reno philanthropist who has been feeding the area’s hungry from her own home for about 30 years. Each holiday season Mount prepares food baskets that are delivered to thousands of families. During Thanksgiving 2007, Mount provided dinners to 4,000 Nevadans who otherwise would not have had anything. Mount and her late husband, Leon, founded Community Outreach in 1976. They started by feeding about 25 families with food they cooked in their own kitchen. Mount knows what it is like to be poor. Growing up in Louisiana, she was one of 11 siblings and three cousins who shared the family’s four-bedroom house.
